Spring is often a time of increased activity – are you ready?  Yoga postural practice builds strength and flexibility in lower body, upper body and core through weight bearing postures and flows.  Yoga asana practice can ease musculo-skeletal aches and pains, while also relieving stress which supports the immune system and overall health.  Springy actions build tensile strength in fascia.  Weight bearing encourages bone strength.  Greater kinesthetic awareness supports optimal body weight.  Moving into action counteracts depression and unwinds tensions which can help ease anxiety.  Whatever your reason for practicing yoga, whether looking for a lift or a place to grow and celebrate, you are welcome here and this class is for you!

Taught by the staff of Certified Yoga Teachers at Tasha Yoga

Yoga for Your Low Back & Lower Body

Thursdays 5-6pm, plus 1 half-hour individual meeting.
Six Week Series April 21-May 26, 2022

with IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist Tasha Judson

Do you experience musculo-skeletal discomfort in your lower body?  This class might be for you.  As the foundation for the entire body, misalignment in the lower body can be disorienting as well as uncomfortable.  Yoga works with interconnections between the various parts of the lower body: feet, ankles, knees, hips, lower back. For instance the hips govern the lower back, and tend to influence the weaker more flexible joints downstream in the knees and feet.  As well, yoga partners the mind and body.  We learn to feel into and think about our lower body as an interconnected system.  Each person can learn to uplevel and optimize how the lower body functions, leading to greater ease and capacity. Empower yourself to gain new awareness and skill

Applicants are required to complete a health questionnaire.

Course fee includes four one-hour classes, one half-hour individual meeting, and the book Yoga for Arthritis by Ellen Saltonstall and Loren Fishman, M.D.
