9-10am: Meet your Feet: Your feet are your very connection to the earth. They are the source of structural support for your entire body. Energetically, they represent the foundation that supports all you do. In this quick refresher course, we’ll explore a balanced alignment approach to foot, arch, ankle and achilles tendon therapeutics. Class will explore relevant anatomy and general alignment principles. Students will leave with practical toning, strengthening and grounding exercises that can be practiced daily to strengthen and heal the feet. This class can be taken alone, or as a great introduction to the asana practice that follows.
10:30 – 1pm: Standing on Solid Ground: Using sound, well tested, structural alignment principles for the feet, legs and hips, we’ll practice a wide array of basic to advanced standing poses, hip openers and forward bends. Class will offer plenty of variations to accommodate students of all levels. Emphasis will be on anatomical and alignment principles for the feet that help to clear injuries. Class will end with a short period of meditation.
