Iyengar Yoga Workshop

Learning to Stand on Your Own Two Feet

with Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher Richard McLaughlin

October 11-13, 2024

BKS Iyengar once said at his 80th birthday in India that he only wanted for his students to be able to stand confidently on their own two feet.  The workshop begins Friday with the nuances of standing in Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and covers the standing poses from that perspective.  Saturday emphasizes twists and forward bends.  We’ll practice inversions or variations thereof in every class because they are so important.  Sunday emphasizes chest opening, restoratives and pranayama.

Friday 5pm (until 7:15pm) – Standing Poses

Saturday 10am (until 12:15pm) – Forward Bending and Twists

Saturday 2pm (until 4:15pm) – Forward Bending and Twists

Sunday 10am (until 12:15pm) – Chest Opening, Restoratives and Pranayama
